CIE-Audio and Armstrong i-ceilings goes to the BETT Show (British Education & Teaching with Technology) in January ‘05 to introduce our ‘A.B.L.E’ initiative to the education market.

The ‘A.B.L.E’ initiative (A Better Learning Environment) has been developed in answer to the Government’s recently published ‘Building Bulletin ‘93’ (BB93) - guidelines on acoustic performance in the classroom, which suggests ‘Sound Field Voice Reinforcement’ as the ideal solution to ensure clear speech communication between the teacher and students. Recommending the Armstrong i-ceilings Sound Field package in BB93, this simple yet highly effective voice reinforcement classroom system provides proven academic improvements in task behaviour, attentiveness, understanding of instructions, better attendance and improved measures of verbal recognition.

i-ceilings Sound Field also provides a unique and completely ‘invisible’ loudspeaker solution which improves aesthetics and decreases possibilities of loudspeaker theft or vandalism, whilst effectively interfacing with multimedia interactive whiteboards.

2005 will be our first time exhibiting at the BETT Show which brings together over 550 leading educational ICT suppliers covering all curriculum areas and all levels of education. The show also features over 100 seminars and workshops from industry experts focusing on current issues in education ICT.

On the i-ceilings Voice Reinforcement stand we’ll be demonstrating our unique ‘in-ceiling’ infrared Sound Field Solution and detailing a number of highly successful systems already being utilised in leading educational applications throughout the UK.
