From the outset Thomas Morton Armstrong strived to put his company at the forefront of product innovation. Creating and selling a variety of products made from cork, Armstrong became known for its consistent value and quality, laying the foundations for the company it has become today.

From a two man cork cutting operation from Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1860, the Company has expanded to become the world's leading manufacturer and supplier of mineral fibre ceiling tiles and now employs over 15,000 people throughout 27 different countries.

Continuing with the same entrepreneurial spirit that started the Company, Armstrong World Industries recently began a search for new and more innovative ways to provide aesthetics and performance within the architectural ceiling plane. Renowned for a wide variety of products and the ability to provide a complete solution within the scope of architectural ceilings, Armstrong decided to innovate with technology. By integrating loudspeaker technology which exactly matches the existing ceilings portfolio, Armstrong was able to launch ‘i-ceilings’ - the perfect integration of state-of-the-art technology without compromising architectural design.
