With
nearly 10,000 students and over 20 academic departments and research
centres, York University is rated in the top 6 for research in
Higher Education institutions. To service these high academic
standards, York University's main library complex, The J.B. Morrell
Library, has recently been upgraded and refurbished to include
improved services and facilities such as a new audio/visual viewing
room, additional seminar & training rooms and electronically
controlled mobile shelving.
Specification
of the refurbishment included 12,000m² of Armstrong ceilings
throughout the library floors, new entrance, reception and service
counter areas. To ensure the ceiling plane was kept as uniform
as possible, 10 x CS-1000s were installed, ensuring low level
PA coverage remained even throughout the ground floor space.
